Well, my response is...

 

"Dentistry is a five year course intensively studying more than 30 subjects including pathology, pharmacology and particularly anatomy of the head and neck. Dental students spend a year dissecting (on cadavers) the head, facial and neck tissues exposing muscles, arteries, veins and other important structures. It could be argued Medicine students will have studied this region in less detail at University and nurses will have had no dissecting experience at all.

 

No profession delivers local anaesthesia in the facial region with the knowledge and to the degree Dentists do.

 

Mouths do have an outside (as well as an inside) called cheeks, lips, neck, throat etc and for far too long, despite our intense studies of these regions, Dentists have ignored these regions in determining how to best achieve health outcomes for some of these areas.

 

Recently selected members of my team & I, have been undergoing extra and intense studies in the new regimes that we are offering. Though there are aesthetic benefits attached, our prime focus will be on improved health and psychological outcomes."
